[logon] new PVM version in LOGON tree; updates to PET binaries

colleagues,

to better support user names exceeding the classic limit of eight characters,
i upgraded the version of PVM bundled with the LOGON tree to the latest and
greatest (3.4.6), improved my PVM patches related to user name handling,
and recompiled all dependent binaries in the LOGON tree.

as i had to recompile PET (in the LOGON tree) anyway, i have now updated
the default PET binaries to the current head revision of the trunk. this means
that native REPP and TnT support are now available in the standard binaries,
and that at present there are no 'testing' binaries (see LogonPet on the wiki,
for background).

i would encourage everyone to 'make update' their LOGON tree. i expect
there /not/ to be user-visible changes, hence will appreciate your feedback
in case you noticed anything surprising.

best wishes, oe

nb: in the unlikely event that you would like to see the exact PVM sources
used in building the binaries and libraries in the LOGON tree, these are now
available through the LOGON SVN, as 'http://svn.emmtee.net/build/pvm3'.
